<P><STRONG>智利政府說，智利中部16日發生芮氏規模5.3地震，首都聖地牙哥(Santiago)的建築物發生搖晃，不過，並沒有傳出人員傷亡或其他災情。</STRONG></P>
<P><BR><STRONG>美國地質調查所表示，這起地震震央位於智利中部港市瓦爾帕萊索(Valparaiso)北北東方72公里處，震源深度24.7公里。</STRONG></P>
<P><BR><STRONG>去年2月27日，智利遭到8.8強烈地震襲擊，造成500多人喪生，中南部的基礎建設和工業受到重創。</STRONG></P>
